SCRIP - Fundraising Program!

The Monticello Soccer Club (MSC) offers a club-wide all-year long fundraising opportunity.  It is a SCRIP program in which there is no selling on your part, you simply order SCRIP from a website or the club coordinator - which are basically gift cards you spend at your favorite stores.   You get full dollar value, in other words, you buy a $50 card for Wal-Mart and you get to spend that $50 at Wal-Mart, but the club and your team (profits split 50/50 between the club and your team) actually make a small profit off that card sale to keep.  (typically 2%-15% of the value of the card purchased)

This will give all our soccer families a way to pitch in and help raise funds for the club as well as make some money for their team accounts.

Some of the things the club could use their portion of the  money for include, but are not limited to:

  • Keep fees from going up
  • Drop Fees
  • Improve facilities
  • Purchase new equipment
  • Provide more club-wide training (More Challenger Camps)

We have uploaded a sample (as of 2/7/11) list of participating companies below so you can see just how many places you shop on a regular basis take part in this program.

There is also an informational PowerPoint document uploaded below for you to look at and learn what this program is.

To get started now, go to:  http://www.shopwithscrip.com/

Our Enrollment code is:  A72BA47121198.

When signing up for your account please make sure you indicate what team you are representing, for example:  2010 U12 Girls - this way I can track where the profits should go.  You can put the team info into either the Classroom/Teacher or the Student section of your account profile.  So it can be updated every year...  Also - if yo ucan find a spot when ordering to indicate what team it will also be helpful, if not just email me, let me know you made an order and what team you are affiliated with and I will get your team the cedit.

I recommend also signing up with Presto-Pay so you can pay online, there is a .39 fee per order but I believe the convienience is worth it.  If you do not wish to do that you can pay by check, you will need to print off your order form and mail it in, once the check clears the order will be placed.

One other tip is you can RELOAD your cards when you receive and use them up, doing this will save the wait time on getting a new one as well as on shipping charges.   Not all stores are available for this at this time so check on their site for this option.

As people order the SCRIP (gift cards), the Coordinator gets notified.  When there are enough orders to more than cover the shipping charge the Coordinator will "push" the club's order through to be processed.  When the cards arrive, the Coordinator will notify the people that ordered and arrange for them to be picked up.

Profits will be transferred to the Team accounts on a periodic basis which will be determined once we have some history to work with.  We don't want to transfer a very small amount for every order, we'd like to wait until the amount to be transferred is at a level that is worthy of transferring.  (TBD)

You can also have friends and family use the program, just make sure they list what team they are affiliated with as described above so the correct team gets credit.

We have uploaded the Family user guide below to help get you started, if you have any questions, please email me, Tony Rowan at president@rivereagles.org.
