To provide competitive opportunities and for players to advance their basic skills.
The purpose of Developmental Soccer is to provide girls and boys with extra skills training which in turn should develop their athletic ability as well as their communication and social skills with other participants in our soccer association. Developmental soccer is more competitive than recreational soccer, but the emphasis is on player development and specifically skill development over game outcome. The MYSA does not keep scores or team standings at these age levels. The Monticello Soccer Club requires equal playing time for all players in these age levels with no exceptions.
Each team will need a Coach (they coach and train the team), Manager (they keep the team organized and going to the correct places for games, get everyone their player passes, etc.) and a Treasurer (they keep the team's funds straight).
2010 Summer Playing Days/Nights:
| Age/Division | Girls | Boys |
| U9 | Tue-Thu | Mon-Wed |
| U10 | Mon-Wed | Tue-Thu |
At this age level the MYSA has two levels of play: Maroon - highest level of competition / Gold - less competitive.
